Hey guys from all over the world!
How are you?
You might be wondering why we have chosen this theme.

It all started in our English class when we talked about the section; "Hermann says Wilkommen", in our English text book.
We would have never thought about a German-English community in the States.
Then, there was Radijojo who gave us the chance of contacting a catholic school in Hermann. Now, we are here producing a radioshow with our fellow students at St. George school.

We found out that some 40 million Americans claim to have German ancestry - and why it is that so few of them speak German! We learned how many towns in America have German names. AND: we have a great report for you about all the V.I.P.s and celebreties in America that have German roots. For instance this lady: Sandra Bullock!

And without this fellow, George Washington would probably never had won the Amercian War of Indepencence: Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben!!

Of course, you know this beautiful lady: Heidi Klum, originally from a town called Bergisch-Gladbach in western Germany.  And guess who this is...

That's right: Dirk "Dirkules" Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks, one of the greatest NBA players of all time!  And those of you who like soccer may know this guy...

This is Jürgen Klinsmann, world championn with the German team in 1990 and trainer of the great 2006 team that won the bronze medal. Yes, he lives in the States!

Albert Einstein was one of the brightest minds ever in Germany. And the Nazis were ignorant and evil enough to chase him out of the country, like so many other great German people of Jewish ancestry, intellectuals, artists....
What a shame..........!

Diane Kruger is now a big star in Hollywood:

This guy here is a very famous German TV show host: Thomas Gottschalk. He lives in Florida to save his privacy - nearly nobody knows him in the States.

And yes, even the roots of Johnny Depp lead to Germany - as you can hear in our report!
